Who are Sara & Evan Rivers?
Sara worked in the Real Estate industry for most of her working career. For the last twenty years Sara published several different Real Estate magazines in Nashville, Tennessee and in Volusia County (Daytona Beach) Florida. In the Spring of 2019, she sold her publication and retired. Sara loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, hike, read and cook with friends. In retirement, she hopes to have lots more time to do the things she loves!

Evan retired in June after a long career in higher education. He began by teaching high school English in upstate New York. After completing his doctorate, Evan taught at Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY)  Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY),  Cumberland University (Lebanon TN), and finally at Daytona State College (Daytona Beach, Florida) where he chaired the English Department. Beyond teaching English literature and composition, Evan also founded and directed writing centers, and taught courses in critical thinking. Evan especially enjoys spending time with Sara, hiking, reading, and playing his guitar.

Sara & Evan were acquaintances at Colonie Central HS, near Albany NY, where both graduated in 1970. Meeting again at their 15th year high school reunion, they began dating and married a year later, in 1986. Both brought children into this new family: Sara’s daughters, Tauren, Lindsey and Brittany; Evan’s daughter Melissa. And in 1990, they added a son, Brendan to, this “yours, mine, and ours” family.  All the kids are grown up now, and the family also includes five grandchildren, and five “grand-dogs.”
